Digital Campaigns

Memorable Campaigns

Have you ever seen a campaign that is so well done that you still remember till this day or when you look at a certain place or item, it will remind you of the campaign?

That is an example of successful campaign.

Campaigns were different back in the days where there are only traditional media.

New media create more intermediaries and more engagement. Hence, the digital advertising spending has slowly surpassed traditional spending.

The increase of digital media usage also contribute to the increase of digital advertising spending.

How to create a successful campaign?

  1. choose your target audience/ understand their culture and behaviour

Eg. the older generations are not as tech savvy as the younger generations

2. Choose an appropriate media for a campaign

  1. Quality
  2. Time
  3. Flexibility
  4. Coverage
  5. Cost

These are the 5 factors that were put into considerations.

Eg. Traditional media works better if the target market is baby boomers.

3. Be consistent

Notice how McDonald’s colour scheme is always in red and yellow?

It is a strategy to trigger your memory of McDonald’s when you see a certain thing in red and yellow. It will probably affect your decision when you are thinking of a place to grab a meal.

“Oh that reminds me of McDonald’s, now i feel like eating McDonald’s for lunch.”

4. Stay Clear/ Interesting and Consistent

5. Make sure message is integrated

After step 5, it’s basically to maintain the after-campaign by updating the campaign and tracking the progress.

What is that one traditional campaign and one digital campaign you think are successful? Leave it on the comment section. 😀

  1. I’ve seen marketing campaigns done by various companies, that boost positivity among consumers as well as increase product purchase. I personally think the holiday trouble campaign by Heineken is one the best I’ve seen thus far. Good read !

  2. Indeed that digital campaigns are very effective and many campaigns are very interesting. I personally feel that The Share a Coke campaign was the most successful one. Anyway what are the limitations of a digital campaign?
