How do Big data and IoT link? : DisneyLand MagicBand

Big data in IoT is when large amount of datas are shared and processed in different storage technologies.

MagicBand is a wearable device that allows people to use like an Ez-link or Condo card!

It’s made all-in-one to lighten Disneyland’s visitors baggage and also a nice souvenir with memorable experience. It is a magical example of Big data and Internet of Things! 🌟

It does not only make visitors’ experience better but it also help Disneyland in collecting data for statistics. The statistics will help in managing Disneyland’s attractions and many more for its future improvements that require visitors’ behaviours and preferences being shown by using MagicBand.

How to use the statistics collected using MagicBand?

An example of statistics that can be collected will be an amount of people used the MagicBand to enter an attraction like “Big Thunder Mountain Railroad” during a certain timing of 12pm to 1pm.

This statistic will help in knowing the crowd during 12pm – 1pm at that attraction. An appropriate solution if the crowd is huge, will be providing a timed ticketing system for attractions with huge crowd. The ticket allows visitors to come back at a certain timing where the crowd is smaller and has a priority entry. This solution is applied to those attractions with bigger crowds currently in Disneyland.
