Viral Marketing

Viral Marketing

Hi, i’m Jane and this is my first blog post.

In this blog post, i’ll discuss about viral marketing. 😊

“What is viral marketing?”

Viral marketing is quite common in this era of technology. It is normally use by company to encourage audience to share about the company’s products or services with the help of internet.

How to use “viral marketing”?

In order to be successful in viral marketing, company should create content that is either relatable or worthy for people to share. Give people a reason to share the product or service. Capture attentions.

  • Giveaway can be used to create viral marketing; repost, share and tag a friend to earn a chance to win the giveaway of the company’s product or service.
  • Tackle on people’s emotions; eg. create a touching/funny story or advertisement to encourage people to share it along with the product or service
  • Make it relatable; relate to target audience, attract their attention by including content they are interested in.

Why “viral marketing”?

Technology is no longer a stranger to many people now and internet made it easy for people to share, in some cases, one click is all they need in order to share a particular content. It is hassle-free.

The power of technology aids companies in their marketing on the net.

Market using internet is low to no cost. All that’s needed is a creative idea to attract and encourage one to share.

Viral Marketing examples that I like:

Youtuber (Youtube)

Youtube has been a platform where people used to earn money by creating content, but there are requirements like amount of views and quality of content in order to earn a decent amount. Therefore people start their channel in Youtube slowly without earning and for their channel to be exposed to more people, the “Youtubers” normally attract more viewers using the “giveaway” method. The only down point is that the “Youtuber” has to use their own money to get the giveaway item or find a sponsor to collaborate with.

In a “giveaway”, viewers are normally required to subscribe and share the giveaway to earn a chance.

By doing this, “Youtubers” are technically using a small amount of money to encourage viewers to share their channel to others.

Similar to Youtube, people also use the same technique on Instagram to get likes, followers and reposts from their audience.

  1. Many “influencers” are earning a lot from YouTube and instagram from the content that they upload. What they are doing is spreading awareness and influencing us with the info they are providing right ?
